The War Domain is granted by gods of warfare, and begins with the ability „War Priest.“ The Cleric can spend „War Priest“ charges to make an additional attack each turn, making the War Domain the best for a weapon-focused cleric build. At level one, the Cleric has three „War Priest“ charges. To further aid in direct combat, the War Domain also grants proficiency in heavy armor and martial weapons.
The best Cleric companions in BG3 are Lae'Zel as your melee bruiser, Gale as your ranged damage-dealer, and Astarion as a versatile blend of melee and Stealth maneuvers. Though you can change the class and specialization of any of your companions, these three come with strong pre-determined class and spec combos to balance out your Cleric party composition.

Putting all of that together, players will be gaining Lightning Charges constantly from casting spells and standing in electrified water, which won't hurt them because of the Sparkswall Ring. Those lightning charges will boost the character's AC by 1, add lightning damage to all their attacks (including spell attacks), and deal even more lightning damage when they max out by spending the whole stack. The Lifebringer adds temporary HP as long as the character has lightning charges, while the Real Sparky Sparkswall allows them to burn three charges to create a lightning aura that jolts nearby foes. Finally, the Blast Pendant uses up all available lightning charges to empower the next spell or cantrip used, adding extra lightning damage to it.
At several levels, players are given free spells that don't need to be slotted in and out of the spellbook. These spells include Bless and Cure Wounds at Level 1, Aid and Lesser Restoration at Level 3, and Revivify and Beacon of Hope at Level 5.
Wild Magic Barbarians channel Wild Magic when they enter a rage, causing a Wild Magic surge similar to the one some Sorcerers can cause when casting spells. They also get the ability „Magic Awareness,“ which lets them use a bonus action to allow themselves and allies within 3m to add their proficiency bonus to saving throws against spells.
This table displays recommended BG3 Cleric build choices for every level, including recommended spells you should add to your Spellbook at each level. These spells synergize well with the BG3 Life Cleric build, including a variety of support spells to provide aid to your party and both debuffs and control effects to affect combat more directly.
Since the Spore Druid can perform quite a bit of necromancy already, it's well worth tracking down the book „Necromancy of Thay“ during Act 1 to unlock its secrets. Finishing the book will take until Act 3, but results in a ton of extra undead minions in combat.
At level six, a Goolock gains the ability „Entropic Ward,“ allowing them to impose a disadvantage on an incoming attack as a reaction. Should that attack miss, they then gain an advantage on their next attack against the failed attacker. This can be used once per short rest.
Overall, the Hexblade Warlock is easily the best option for a Warlock focusing on melee combat, especially when paired with the Pact of the Blade to gain extra attacks at level 5. Their ability to utilise several useful combat spells, like Wrathful Smite, Shield, and Elemental Weapon, along with their ability to wear medium armour and use shields, makes them uniquely suited to fighting on the front lines. Their lower health pool when compared to most melee classes is offset by their Spectres, who can help to draw some attention off them, and their access to defensive spells like Blink and the aforementioned shield.
The War Domain's extra attack bonus action is incredibly powerful since it can be used alongside additional attacks gained from other classes. This makes the War Cleric particularly suited to multiclassing with the Fighter and Paladin. The Extra Attack also works while Wildshaped, so taking a small dip into War Cleric can add a lot of extra power to a Moon Druid, though this will be limited by the small number of Channel Divinity charges available.(Image: https://burf.co/about.php)
