| That's about it for this year I guess. I don't know if it's doable, but I'm hoping that if Screen Rant continues to grow (tell your friends about the site, will ya??) that next year I can afford to bring Bruce, Jamie, Heath and Kofi to help cover Comic-Con 20 | I'm a little (no, A LOT) suspect of The Book of Eli , Transformers 2 and Wolverine getting nominated for Best Fantasy Film (and District 9 didn't?!) and New Moon and The Box getting nominated in the Horror category (were either of those even horror movie |

| Similar to the Scream Awards , I really dig the Saturn Awards because of the types of films they celebrate. Often with awards like the Oscars and the Golden Globes, purely fun films that have every bit of merit as the serious ones get left | M. Night Shyamalan has been a victim of his own success (and his ego) with each of his films getting pretty much worse than the one that came before. However here he will be tackling something completely different from anything he has ever done before, and based on the one trailer we've seen so far it looks like it may turn out to be impressive. | So the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con is officially over - today feels like coming down from a "high." Covering the Con is always a whirlwind, but at least this year (my second covering it) I felt like a was a bit more in cont | The Scream 2009 nominees were chosen by the Advisory Board of Hollywood and Genre Leaders, a list which this year includes the likes of Wes Craven, Roland Emmerich, Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Eli Roth and Zack Snyder, plus many more. The event will be taped on Saturday, October 17th this year at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, and will air on Spike TV ten days later on Tuesday, October 27th (check for local tim |

| Last year was brutal, as I was covering the Con not only in general for Screen Rant but in particular for AdvancedIron.org , the number one Iron Man fan site in the world (with some help from my pal John Comerford). This year I was determined to relax a bit and enjoy the event m | Benicio del Toro is a great actor and I'm looking forward to seeing him as the tortured soul cursed by the, uh, curse of the werewolf. It looks like they'll be trying to do as much as they can with practical visual effects (although I'm sure there will be CGI as well) and that suits this f |

| Here's just some of my quick thoughts on who and what's been nominated: I'm glad to see so many nominations for my favorite show Lost , racking up nine in total (nice to see Josh Holloway finally get recognition for his acting). I'm delighted to see Sam Rockwell get recognition for his fantastic performance in Moon (I was really annoyed that he didn't get nominated for an Osc | In this Weekend Movie News Wrap Up we look at why Simon Pegg isn't an Inglorious Bastard , we see the return of Candyman , Conan gets rewritten, we check out the details of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull DVD and we have a look at some more images from Watchm |

| While Watchmen and Terminator Salvation were big this year along with Wolverine , they weren't "Iron Man big" as far as generating buzz on site. I have a feeling that next year's Con will have more to offer comic book fans with Iron Man 2, Captain America and The Avengers movies coming out in 2 | "I don't want to tempt fate. But Mark (Millar) and I over a couple of beers came up with one of the funniest, coolest idea for a sequel that we would only be able to get away with if the film does well. | The Return of a Legend—The evolution of the new film and a tribute to the legendary hero and his creators. (HD)Pre-Production—Follows Steven Spielberg as he creates animatic sequences, Shia LaBeouf as he learns to swordfight and captures the reunion of filmmakers and cast on the soundstage. | "The film breaks a lot of taboos, and has certain elements that, if you're a studio executive, might make you think, "Why in the hell would we make a film like this?" One thing I don't think anyone got from the script was how humorous and fun it is.... They were like, "Is it a gangster film, is it a comedy? What is this? We don't get it! We're not making it!" So we thought "Fair enough. Screw you guys, we're going to go off and make |

| Today marks the day when the nominations for the 36th Annual Saturn Awards are given out. In case you're not familiar with them, they are given out by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films (they also include TV shows and stage productions) so as a reader of Screen Rant I believe they're right up your alley | If there was ever a film that was suited to the twisted vision of Tim Burton, this is it. I'm not the biggest Burton fan and some of what I've seen in the trailer doesn't quite work for me (the Red Queen's head is so huge it looks cartoonish), but overall this is bound to be a feast for the senses and probably the closest a screen version will get to the source mater |

| I know we missed a lot, but it was just myself and Bruce Simmons on the beat, as opposed to most of my online movie friends who seemed to each have their own entourage of minions (you know I mean that affectionately, guys) to help them cover far more than we could. At least as a bonus Bruce turned out to be a photography buff and we were able to provide you with a few pictures of this year's event. Actually I think he still has a couple hundred in his camera that didn't managed to make it onto the ser | Last year could have been worse - 5 of our 10 most anticipated movies of 2009 turned out to live up to our expectations (including Watchmen, Up, and Star Trek ), while the other five ranged from mediocre ( Public Enemies ) to downright disappointing ( Terminator Salvation, Wolverine, Transformers 2 ). Of course "most anticipated" does not necessarily mean "movies we think are going to be awesome" - it's "movies we hope are going to be aweso |

| Personally, I'd love to see a sequel to The Rundown , which I think is an under-appreciated film that features Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Sean William Scott cooking up some great comedic chemistry. I'd much rather he concentrate on doing another one of that than do Hancock 2 , because frankly, I don't wanna' see another Hancock . To me, the first installment was a fun-at-times film, but one that didn't live up to its huge potential, IMHO. And the story was fine for one film, but the possible sequel storyline pitched by Berg awhile back didn't sound that good to | "Okay. When you watch it... I will bet you any amount of money you want... anything at any odds... I'll give you a million-to-one odds if you want... that you will a) fall in love with her, b) buy her, and c) think, "My god, I just saw the Jodie Foster/Natalie Portman of this generation... Would you be bothered if Berg didn't come back to direct again, since he appears to be ultra-busy with other proje | Green Hornet made it onto the list just on morbid curiosity. I'm a big fan of the 60s TV series and was hoping to see a serious take on it on the big screen. However the production has not been smooth to say the least with apparent differences of opinion between Seth Rogen, director Michael Gondry and Stephen Chow (who eventually left the production altogether), production delays, script changes, etc. We'll see what the final product looks like at the end of 2 |
