At the moment, it's uncertain if the Chinese regulators have begun enforcing this ban because Fortnite and PUBG are still playable. Until then, however, all players can enjoy all that season 7 of Fortnite has to offer, including the latest OP weapon, the Infinity Bl

Video game addiction in general is a growing concern, though outside of India, much of the anxiety surrounding the issue is not aimed at PUBG . While PUBG seems to be the dominant battle royale game in India, Fortnite is much more popular elsewhere in the world, and has had its fair share of strange addiction stories tied to it as well. One of the more extreme examples saw a young girl admitted to rehab for Fortnite addicti

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was one of the vanguards of the Battle Royale genre when it launched in 2017. It instantly became one of the world’s most popular online games, in constant competition with Fortnite . Recently, though, the genre has exploded in popularity , with new games coming out at a rapid pace and existing games adding Battle Royale modes to get in on the trend. Most of these games add features that expand on the genre, increasing the pressure on PUBG to keep adding new twists its

While a leak of PS4 PUBG was recently teased , it's all but official now. The timing for a PS4 version of PUBG comes exactly a year after the mega popular PC game found its home on Xbox One via the Xbox Game Preview program. That being said, the game's later "full" Xbox One release in September 2018 continues to plagued by performance issues, bugs, and aggressive monetization tactics and players have been airing their grievan

Despite all the criticisms, there are sure to be some PS4 owners who are glad that they can finally play PUBG with their DualShock 4 controllers. It has been a massive year for Sony's next-gen console with exclusives like God of War and Spider-Man , meaning that even at this late stage of its life cycle, the PS4 is still shifting an impressive number of units and has now outsold the PS3 . For PS4 owners, this announcement may be too little, too late. Owners of other platforms have been able to enjoy PUBG for almost two years at this point, and since then, the battle royale itch has been scratched by the free-to-play Fortnite and Call of Duty's "Blackout" mode. It certainly doesn't help that the word of mouth on the Xbox One's technical performance has been largely negative, with graphical issues and choppy frame rates being cited by players. Despite enthusiasm from Sony and PUBG Corp., it is difficult to determine just what audience this release is

In celebration of the imminent launch, a trailer was released on the official PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds YouTube channel. Although billed as a trailer, the video plays more like a short film, with Vogt-Roberts' big screen sensibilities shining through. The video stars Nick Robinson and Jason Mitchell, who previously worked with Vogt-Roberts on Kings of Summer and Kong: Skull Island , respectively. After parachuting into a real-world version of the game's environment, Mitchell is beset by numerous gun-toting threats with only a frying pan (and some perfectly punctual allies) for protection. Recently, the Chinese government created an Online Gaming Ethics Review Committee to ensure video games do not contain "ethically questionable content." Of the 20 games reviewed by this new committee, 11 developers were instructed to take "corrective action." 9 games have been selected, including Fortnite , to be banned in its entirety. While the banned games may be a surprise to some, it's worth mentioning that China has even censored Winnie the Pooh in Kingdom Hearts

Moreover, it's worth mentioning that the 9 banned games are all battle royale games like Fortnite , so it's unclear if the country is just attempting to crack down on the genre as a whole. Without further ado, the full list of games selected for corrective action or withdrawal from the marketplace foll

Whatever the case may be, it's clear that more studies need to be done on game addiction to determine the proper way to diagnose the disorder as well as treat it. So far, it seems as though psychiatrists are treating game addiction the same as drug addiction, and it's unclear if that is the best way to handle it or not. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if other governments react in the way India did to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds , and just start banning certain games outri

Commonly referred to as PUBG, the fellow video game property was first released in 2017. Inspired by the popular Japanese film, it kickstarted the Battle Royale genre of games, selling over 5 million copies in three months. A version of the game was eventually released on Xbox One. However, it has been frequently plagued by performance issues, bugs, and aggressive monetization tactics, including insanely expensive DCEU skins . Despite that, and the fact it has since been surpassed by Fortnite __ in terms of popularity, PUBG still boasts a solid fanbase. In an effort to reclaim and expand on that base, the game will next release on the PS4. Although many fans were pleased with the announcement, there are also those that consider the move far too la
