I’m not a huge fan of Breath of the Wild as a game . I am, however, a humongous fan of Breath of the Wild as a world that exists on the Nintendo Switch and could be filled with Pokemon. Pokemon Legends: Arceus was supposed to be the delivery of ‘Pokemon but Breath of the Wild’, but it now seems to be more like ‘Pokemon but Monster Hunter: Rise’. That’s disappointing - Breath of the Wild is much closer to my hypothetical perfect Pokemon game than Monster Hunter - but it might just be for the b

Monster Hunter Freedom was the series' first installment on a handheld console, the PSP, which made a huge difference when it came to the games' most core component: multiplayer. It’s no surprise that Pokemon is on our list. If you happen to be unfamiliar with Pokemon, you play as a trainer, focused on catching a wide variety of creatures. Each creature is logged into your Pokedex, which is packed with helpful informat

A Monster Hunter structure means there will be a central hub for you to return to, and various Wild Area-esque zones for you to explore in turn - but unlike the Wild Area itself, you will be exploring them with purpose. It probably won't be to hunt down and slay a Garchomp, but the game looks set to offer a sense of direction in every open area it offers you. This is a halfway house between the rigid routes of the main game and the Pokemon Hyrule of everyone's dreams, but it's probably for the b

Monster Hunter to Monster Hunter, if you enjoy the witcher contracts that take Geralt all across the Continent and back you'll probably enjoy getting up close and personal with the many unique and peculiar beasts that threaten the rural Japanese town and surrounding maps in Monster Hunter Ri

As far as the franchise's survival on smartphones goes, Monster Hunter Now is simple but nevertheless addictive. The AR game takes real-life map data from players' phones to allow fights against monsters that appear. It's like if Pokemon GO allowed players to simply just fight monsters rather than catch creatures, which is to be expected given that it comes from the same company, Nian

The sequel to the handheld title [[https://monsterwildlands.com/|Monster Hunter Wilds Guide|Https://Monsterwildlands.Com/]] Hunter Freedom only proved to enhance the experience of the original, bringing more content to the game's classic formula. Monster Hunter Rise will undoubtedly carry this system forward, but it also adds more by giving players a new form of transportation called Wirebugs that double as the basis for super-powerful attacks or special techniques. On top of that, the Monster Hunter Rise demo on Nintendo Switch showcases numerous quality-of-life updates compared to Generations Ultimate including open-world map design, faster resource collecting, and rideable Palamute partners. Introducing new weapons is just one more way the game could improve, and Nintendo has offered an interesting exam

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate had an interesting islander charm, challenging both expert players and Tri returners with new underwater monsters, swimming mechanics, and a bigger-than-ever roster of beautifully designed monsters and weapons in the new coastal-themed environment. However, some have chosen to forget about the difficult and often frustrating underwater mechan

Starting humbly as a hidden gem from Japan, Monster Hunter has slowly grown in popularity since its success on the 3DS and Wii U, only bolstered by the release of Monster Hunter: World, which brought a whole new crowd to what was once a niche grind-em-up boss bana

Maybe one day we'll get a full open-world Pokemon game, and maybe it'll be great. For now though, a Monster Hunter structure seems like the best balance, and means Pokemon Legends: Arceus can be Pokemon's next great leap without falling over its own feet Kleavor still looks bad tho
