-On top of new details for these previously announced games, we'll also get our first glimpse of 38 Studios' Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning . Todd McFarlane is acting as executive art director on the game. Now, when I heard about this game, I was actually quite excitedIt remains to be seen though, how a company started by a Major League Baseball player, Curt Schilling, will fare when compared to companies such as Microsoft and BlizzardPersonally, I'm wondering how much experience someone from the MLB would have running a gaming company. We'll just have to see what happens when it comes time for the pa+Welcome to This Week in Gamingwhere we take a look back at some of the most newsworthy events in gaming history from last year to even decades ago that happened this very weekTake a gander at some of the highlights and see which spark nostalgia and which may still be news to you.

-On Friday, the focus will be on Twisted Metal , Dead Space 2 , Marvel VsCapcom 3 , Fable Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Gears Of War 3 . -Aside from clarifying the traversal mechanics for Fable: The Journey , Molyneux also went into little more detail on the combat. Though the series has always been known for combining melee, ranged, and magic attacks into one seamless experience, The Journey will be completely magic-based for a very simple rea+

-Given the new 22 Cans ventureit's unclear how involved Molyneux will actually be as "creative consultant" and it's hard not to speculate that title is more of a PR move than an actual indication that the designer will be very involved in the completion of the projectThe "creative consultant" position is becoming a go-to move for developers latelyas major figure-heads leave fan-favoite studios in the midst of oft-delayed projects, since the situation is especially reminiscent of the recent Fumito Ueda/Team Ico change-+With a new engine delivering improved visualsand new way to execute combat and traversal, Fable: The Journey has the chance to make great headway for the Kinect hardwareMolyneux seems like he understands Kinect much better than other developers, and he promises to make a believer out of each and every naysa

-As with all other conventions, Sunday is generally the day where everything descends into a sort of lull compared to the previous three daysAs in previous years, Sunday is set aside for the show'more kid-friendly contentso it's no surprise that the big games we'll see are Marvel's Super Hero Squad Online and LEGO Universe . Sure, they may not be as big as, say, Halo: Reach or Gears Of War 3 , but you never know -- they could hold some pleasant surpri+Welcome to the first day of Game Rant's E3 2010 coverageThe first big event of the show, Microsoft'press conferenceis scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM Pacific Time. No doubt there will be a ton of information on the newly named Kinect . But what else? Will we see the rumored Xbox 360 Slim ? Any new news on Halo: Reach or Gears of War 3 ? And what surprises are in st

Soit was assumed that Telltale would be focusing on the fairy tale graphic novel's Bigby (a.k.a.'The Big Bad Wolf); given the studio's experience with the likes of Puzzle Agent building an adventure game around the sheriff of Fabletown made se

-Fable: The Journey is expected to be released this yearso it's certainly possible that Molyneux's work on the game is mostly complete - as the titlepresumablyis in the hands of department designers and no longer requires larger visioning or shaping. That saidit's much more likely that development on the inevitable (yet unannounced) Fable 4 will take the biggest hit (not to mention the recently announced Fable: Heroes ) given how involved Molyneux has been with the previous full-scale Fable adventu+Aside from clarifying the traversal mechanics for Fable: The Journey , Molyneux also went into a little more detail on the combat. -  +It was the console to beat all others. Nintendo announced its new system two years before its unveiling. It was named, "Revolution" and had everybody buzzing. We now know it as the Wii-- a less than threatening name that is more suited to Nintendo'goals. "Revolution" served as a wonderful project title filled with mystery and excitement. However, according to Reggie Fils-Aime, it would not translate well under many other languages. Plus, a name like that would have probably caused an uproar from Americans stating the Japanese are out to get them againThat didn't happen...at least to my knowledge. Wii is friendlier and less menacing. Nintendo was right about the Wii's original namesakeit did cause quite the revolution in the video game industry because of its highly advanced motion sensor system.
-Opening up the month is the anticipated Fable Anniversary , a re-imagining of the hit RPG originally released on the Xbox nearly ten years ago. It arrives February 4th for the Xbox 360. The Wii U gets its own taste of more platformer goodness on the 21stwhen Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze swings into actionFinally, the long-awaited Thief reboot finds its way to all major platforms after nearly a decade of abse+
+This event is such a big deal for some that it's probably more exciting than Christmas. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, more commonly known as E3, is the greatest event on every video gamer's calendarIt all began back in the 1990s to little fanfare. Despite the lack of attentionthere were some monumental announcements. It was at this E3 that Sony made its debut to the gaming industry. The Sega Saturn was available to test play as well as the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Nintendo also revealed its Ultra 64 console, stating it will be ready next year. A few notable game titles at the show included Ridge RacerPanzer Dragoon and Virtua FighterE3 started slowbut because this was the first expo dedicated to video games, more companies and fans realized they weren't going to miss out next year.

-When Telltale Games announced that they would be bringing Fables an adaptation of the Vertigo graphic novel series to gamers everywhere, it was hard to know what to expectThat was before The Walking Dead made the studio one of the most impressive in the realm of video game writing , not to mention undisputed masters of episodic relea+(Image: [[https://burf.co/about.php|https://burf.co/about.php]])That criteria is consonant with a Lionhead job listing which surfaced last yearbrimming with suggestive language related to next-gen engine/graphical designThere are some curious distinctions, however, present in the animation director description that point directly toward work on the [[https://fablechronicle.com/|Fable cheats|https://fablechronicle.com/]] franch

-Having recently finished Fable 3 myself, I was eagerly anticipating a reveal for Lionhead Studios’ next adventure. Though this wasn’t exactly the Fable I was looking for, I went into the demo with an open mind and came out a believernot just because of the compelling power of Peter Molyneux’s imagination, but because the game sounds really awes+Movement off of the buggy has yet to be clearly outlined by the team at Lionhead but Molyneux said it would be something along the lines of pointing in a general direction. Molyneux would like players of Fable: The Journey to explore as much of Albion as they possibly can, but doesn't want them to be hindered by the feeling that they have to be extremely active. Fable: The Journey allows the player to experience the game's traveral in a simple and approachable

-It looks like there's a lot more to look forward to this month, with more releases on the PS4 and Xbox One. Although it won't be until March that the next-gen titles start pouring inFebruary should have many releases to keep gamers occupied. Ranters, what are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments section below! As for meI'll be counting the days until Thief releases on St+Yet despite that successthere have still been no substantial announcements on what the studio has planned for Bill Willingham's comic series. -  +id Software's debut title was Wolfenstein 3D, a violent first person shooter with unprecedented graphics. You play as B.J. Blazkowicz, an American spy attempting to bring down the Nazi party. As he searches for plans to a cruel experiment, he is captured and imprisoned inside their headquarters at Castle Wolfenstein. B.J. escapes and finds out the operation is to create an army of zombified mutants. To beat the game, B.Jfaces off with Adolf Hitler who is equipped with robotic suit and heavy duty weaponry. Wolfenstein 3D sold more than 100,000 copies within its first year and has since been named one of the top games of all time. It is the basis of all FPS games combining fact-paced actiontechnical advances and graphic violenceIt propelled id Software and shooting games into the future.
