-Hey, that title sounds familiarGameWeek Magazine was weekly publication by Cyberactive Media Group, Inc., that ran from 1995 until 2002. The magazine featured interviews with the game industry's leading professionals, stories on the latest trends and of course reviews and previews. However, instead of scoring games on their playability, the magazine focused on their marketability. Because of GameWeek's frequent production, they could occupy more niches including job openings and offer full coverage of E3. The company decided to close production after a decline in advertising spending affected the market. Although no longer in circulation, the magazine had a long run and was never unseated by its competitors. GameWeek has been considered the last printed trade publication in North America.+Welcome to This Week in Gamingwhere we take a look back at some of the most newsworthy events in gaming history from last year to even decades ago that happened this very weekTake gander at some of the highlights and see which spark nostalgia and which may still be news to you.

-Opening up the month is the anticipated Fable Anniversary a re-imagining of the hit RPG originally released on the Xbox nearly ten years ago. It arrives February 4th for the Xbox 360. On the 5th, internet "let's play" sensation Outlast will be available on the PS4. Later in the month, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII makes its way to the PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 11thRayman Legends jumps into the next-gen fray on the 18thgiving some much-needed platformer action to the PS4 and Xbox One. The Wii U gets its own taste of more platformer goodness on the 21st, when Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze swings into action. Finally, the long-awaited Thief reboot finds its way to all major platforms after nearly a decade of abse+But if anythingThe Journey did offer the series room to breath after its three main installments between 2005 and 2010Creator Peter Molyneux has already promised that Fable 4 would come to fruition at some point in the foreseeable future, and a pair of job listings from Lionhead Studios suggests that a major series overhaul -- perhaps even a full reboot -- is underway for the next generat

-According to Molyneuxthis Albion will still be reeling (or rejoicing) from the player’s previous actions in Fable 3 . The developer even added that Fable: The Journey will actually take specific data from your Fable 3 save file and implement it in the world of The Journ+With a new engine delivering improved visuals, and a new way to execute combat and traversal, Fable: The Journey has the chance to make great headway for the Kinect hardware. Molyneux seems like he understands Kinect much better than other developers, and he promises to make a believer out of each and every naysa

-Having recently finished Fable 3 myself, I was eagerly anticipating a reveal for Lionhead Studios’ next adventureThough this wasn’t exactly the Fable I was looking forI went into the demo with an open mind and came out a believernot just because of the compelling power of Peter Molyneux’s imagination, but because the game sounds really awes+Welcome to the first day of Game Rant's E3 2010 coverageThe first big event of the showMicrosoft's press conferenceis scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM Pacific Time. No doubt there will be a ton of information on the newly named Kinect . But what else? Will we see the rumored Xbox 360 Slim ? Any new news on Halo: Reach or Gears of War 3 ? And what surprises are in st

-Also responding to the player’s decisions will be the horse that navigates your buggy in the gameDependent on how you treat your horse — whether you break out your whip to travel a bit faster or not — the equestrian creature might develop luscious glow or could be all skin and bonesThink of Fable: The Journey ’s horse as this version'dog, how you interact with the horse will determine whether you are a noble or an evil charac+But what stood out more to this comic book fan was the poster featuring little more than the title 'Fables' and a looming silhouette of a werewolfSo, it was assumed that Telltale would be focusing on the fairy tale graphic novel's Bigby (a.k.a.'The Big Bad Wolf); given the studio'experience with the likes of Puzzle Agent , building an adventure game around the sheriff of Fabletown made se

-Winter's still going on strong - for most of usanyway - but the gaming release lull is slowly coming to an end! While most February releases are still geared towards the previous generationthere are a few next-gen games that should start the ball rolling for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Let's take look at what February has to of+Aside from clarifying the traversal mechanics for Fable: The Journey Molyneux also went into a little more detail on the combat. Though the series has always been known for combining meleeranged, and magic attacks into one seamless experience, The Journey will be completely magic-based for a very simple rea

-  +It was the console to beat all others. Nintendo announced its new system two years before its unveiling. It was named"Revolution" and had everybody buzzing. We now know it as the Wii-- a less than threatening name that is more suited to Nintendo's goals"Revolution" served as a wonderful project title filled with mystery and excitement. However, according to Reggie Fils-Aime, it would not translate well under many other languages. Plusa name like that would have probably caused an uproar from Americans stating the Japanese are out to get them againThat didn't happen...at least to my knowledge. Wii is friendlier and less menacing. Nintendo was right about the Wii's original namesakeit did cause quite the revolution in the video game industry because of its highly advanced motion sensor system.
-Online is an integral part of video games in the modern age. For better or for worse, the last generation of console was dominated by online gaming with competitive matchmaking becoming a norm for most AAA game titleshelping make the eSports culture more mainstreamThe popularity of series such as Halo , Call of Duty and FIFA meant that for many gamersonline play was the main reason to keep playing a gameThe consequences of this were that several publishers became slaves to the trendputting (forcing?in needless multiplayer modes that took away from certain game as a wh+

-  +This event is such a big deal for some that it's probably more exciting than Christmas. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, more commonly known as E3, is the greatest event on every video gamer's calendar. It all began back in the 1990s to little fanfare. Despite the lack of attentionthere were some monumental announcements. It was at this E3 that Sony made its debut to the gaming industry. The Sega Saturn was available to test play as well as the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Nintendo also revealed its Ultra 64 console, stating it will be ready next year. A few notable game titles at the show included Ridge Racer, Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Fighter. E3 started slow, but because this was the first expo dedicated to video games, more companies and fans realized they weren't going to miss out next year.
-By incorporating the idea of spell-weaving into the combat of Fable: The Journey , the player will not be taken out of the experience, but instead will fall deeper into the idea that they are creating and controlling a wide variety of spe+

-Leading up to E3, the Game Rant team put together a pair of lists of our most anticipated confirmed games E3 2011 and our most anticipated rumored games . Several of the rumored games did end up being showcased at the annual Los Angeles event, but were our hopes and anticipation justif+(Image: [[https://burf.co/about.php|https://burf.co/about.php]])That criteria is consonant with a Lionhead job listing which surfaced last year, brimming with suggestive language related to next-gen engine/graphical design. -One of the franchises that came out largely unscathed by excessive multiplayer capabilities was the Fable series. While [[https://Fablechronicle.com/|Fable Tips|Https://Fablechronicle.Com/]] III did boast co-op capabilities, Lionhead Studios has never done anything quite on the scale of what it is attempting with the newly announced Fable Legends . The franchise's next-gen debutan Xbox One exclusive, is an ambitious online jump for the series, allowing up to four players the opportunity to work together in order thwart another player taking on the role of the vill+Movement off of the buggy has yet to be clearly outlined by the team at Lionhead , but Molyneux said it would be something along the lines of pointing in a general directionMolyneux would like players of Fable: The Journey to explore as much of Albion as they possibly canbut doesn't want them to be hindered by the feeling that they have to be extremely active. -The nominations were decided by all 11 of the Game Rant staff in attendance for E3 and are based upon our previewsdemos and hands-on experiences with all of the available titles at the event this y+Yet despite that success, there have still been no substantial announcements on what the studio has planned for Bill Willingham's comic series.
