-Let's not sugar-coat it: Microsoft has a problem with its Xbox One console, and it stems from its current roster of exclusive games... or lack thereof. Now, the tried and true first-party blockbusters have already appeared on the Xbox One – with Halo , Gears of War , and Forza all making their presence felt on the system – while new properties like Sea of Thieves and Sunset Overdrive have helped provide a unique reason for console gamers to invest in the hardware outside of its expected lin +Sea of Thieves has been boggling us for the past few months leading up to its release. After allthis pirate-themed MMO title is meant to be one of the year'biggest games, but yet little of us here at HG showed any real enthusiasm for itAnd it's not that it didn't look fun, with its swashbuckling adventuresnaval combat and even the ability to even shoot yourself out of cannonBut there was just always something that always seemed to be holding it back. And after having spent some time with the game, it's not hard to see what that something is, because while there is fun to be hadthis game feels a bit more like a pond than a sea.

-Nowwhen you can get a good-sized crew that can all communicate? That'when Sea of Thieves truly comes aliveThis is a game that can master the art of camaraderie as you help each other out by telling the player at the wheel what's past the sails in their viewkeeping an eye out for shipwrecks with potential lootsplitting up to search an island and swap clues and findings, or even firing flintlocks at sharks from the ship to help save players making swim for the ladder while carrying the treasure you foundHeck, even just playing around with the musical instruments or getting drunk on grog during a quieter moment provides some laughs and levity as a group. Working as a crew is just as fun and rewardingand is clearly the game's biggest strength.+

-The majority my time with Sea of Thieves was alone which certainly amplified the problems I have. When you do have a crewthose problems are still prevalent but are slightly extinguished because of how social the game is. In order to expertly maneuver the ship or execute a [[https://strategyreviewer.com/|Strategy game guides|https://strategyreviewer.com/]] to take out the wave of skeletons, you'll have to communicate with your crew constantly. -Even this beginning step was a brief moment of disappointment for me. Initially, I thought I was going to carve out my own adventure with a pirate I created. Although it seems like an arbitrary complaint, the direction the game takes with its progression makes this counterintuit+Beddall's comments certainly match up with how some players are feeling about Sea of Thieves . Although the [[https://Strategyreviewer.com/|strategy game tips|https://Strategyreviewer.com/]] is an enjoyable onethere is a sense of frustration that the gameplay on offer doesn't give as much variety that would be hoped from such a highly anticipated release . As such, it's easy to see why some users feel as though Sea of Thieves has not progressed enough from testing to really be considered a full launch right

-It’official, Sea of Thieves is getting a PVP modeEarlier this year it was reported that the action-adventure game was considering adding Battle Royale mode . Game developer Rare’s design directorMike Chapman stated that the interest was there but that the developer wanted to create twist to the game modeEvidently this is exactly what Rare has donecreating PVP mode with a few extra flourishes to tie back to the rest of the g+The other key issue addressed in Rare'developer update is cheating in Sea of Thieves . Despite only releasing a few weeks ago, the game reportedly already has hacking problemand Rare states that the studio considers dealing with this issue a top priority. The studio reiterated its banning policy, stating that any players caught cheating in the game would be banned straight a

+Going back to the trading companies, though, the three of them basically dish out the game's main quests from various outpostsThere's the Order of Souls, a group of mystics that ask you to hunt down various undead pirate captains and bring back their skulls, the Merchant Alliance, a group of professional businessmen who task you with gathering and delivering various items and animals, and the Gold Hoarders, somewhat raggedy bunch of gold lovers who request you to find various buried treasure chests through maps and clues. Or to sum up their respective gameplay and missions, "Kill all the things," "Fetch all the things," and "Do things actually directly related to being a frigging pirate."

The setup for Sea of Thieves is that you wake up as a pirate in a tavern on an outpost in the middle of the titular sea, head to your ship, and then...um...basically proceed to just do pirate things. Because...pirates. Yeah, needless to say, a lack of detailed world-building already sticks out as one of the most notable flaws. There's no real driving force behind everything other than "go be a pirate." Sure, there are hints of something bigger in the various tribal markings and shrines you find, but they're as bare as possible and don't contribute a lot. You do have various trading companies to work for, ghost ships to sail on when you die, a vicious kraken, salty buccaneers that sell you goods...but they don't necessarily blend into a cohesive world. It feels more like someone just spread out a bunch of standard pirate cliches and just decided to roll with it. The setup for Sea of Thieves is that you wake up as a pirate in a tavern on an outpost in the middle of the titular sea, head to your ship, and then...um...basically proceed to just do pirate things. -Sea of Thieves is a mixed bag of emotions for meIt'a great social experience to play with a group of friends and sail on the prettiest water you will ever see in a video gameIt's also bogged down by tedious and repetitive voyages that reward you with meager pay. When you can eventually purchase an item, it will only affect how you look. If that is the case, it seems puzzling that I can't create character I want to flaunt to any passerby. -The pirated themed co-op was released this past March to mixed reviews. Critics praised the open-world gameplay but found there was too little content to keep players engaged In response, the developer started churning out new content.  +Beddall, whose work on Sea of Thieves can be seen on his portfolio page , went on to explain a little more of Rare's thinking during development, suggesting that " the plans and ideas for the game were bigger than what was released ," but that the core gameplay loop of the title never really shiftedWhereas Beddall himself was hoping for more by way of " dungeons and raids ," instead he shares the genuine concerns of players over the lack of variety found in the full release of the gameHis experience of working on Sea of Thieves was one where Rare was " really anal about every detail of the game " when more focus could have been put into the gameplay itself" I have never worked on a game that was developed so slowly" he s
