-Which brings this full circle back to the StrikeWith only one Strike to tackleany Guardian checking out the beta will probably play this few times. It was with my second group that more problems started to crop up. The beta is a stress test on Destiny 2’systemso having such sparse…everything...became more noticeable. There is a limited arsenal in Destiny 2 at the moment, and when the party hit the bosswe started to wipeAfter the third wipe I began switching out weapons in every combination imaginable, but we just couldn’t land itHaving played Destiny since vanilla, I’d say the skills are thereBut here is Destiny 2 presenting itself as challengingbut there is always that inkling that ita façadeAgain, every Destiny expansion has done this. New encounters, new mechanics, new gear. It makes it all seem like the game has changedbut level up enoughequip the right stuff and that boss that was causing so much grief becomes laughable. One can only hope that this beta is not tricking players into a false experience, but that won’t be revealed until September. So, for now it’s the waiting game.+That's Protheon's big mechanicOnce you get him down to a certain damage pointhe drops out the floor beneath you and lands you in new arena. He does this three times throughout the fight. The difficult part about Protheon is that he plays floor'lava with you. When he gets pissed enoughhe'll slam his fist on the ground and burn the entirety of the floorwhich forces you to jump up on some small platformsAll this does, however, is put you in the line of sight of Protheon, who has two different weapons with which to take you down. It's a tough fight, but it's interesting and different, and that's what we want. I will say, however, that the rest of the strike is pretty mundaneSave for the couple of interesting set pieces I mentioned earlier, it'kind of simpleIt doesn't have many interesting mechanics, but it is shortso running it over and over as you grind will at least be quick. So againif all of the strikes in Destiny 2 are short and simple but also take you through a new and interesting setting with a neat boss at the endthen sign me up for more.

-Competitive multiplayer returns in the form of Crucible, which has gone through extensive tweaks. Gone are the 6v6 matchesreplaced with 4v4 matches. While this is a curious choicethe player count works rather well in-game. All multiplayer maps have been designed with this number in mind and it’s easy to find firefights. Playing Crucible is also more rewarding with loot generously dropped and Crucible Reputation tokens after each match. +The RNG system is still here but has been streamlined to be more rewarding. Faction Leaders regularly dole out Legendary items after you turn in enough Faction currency to them, which can be found by participating in activities in the worldplaying Cruciblebreaking down old items and participating in Strikes. All-in-all, it’s not much of a chore to get to a high Power Level to take part in the late game activitiesWhat has been negatively impacted in [[https://www.destiny2Focus.com/|Destiny 2 DLC]] 2 is a player’ability to customize their Guardian and earn certain rewards.
-The mission takes you through a bunch of rooms and corridors of the Tower you've never seen before, teams you up with Cayde, Savala, and Ikora for small objectives of the mission, and has few mini bosses that you'll fight your way through before taking on a sort of final boss. There's also a point where Amanda Holiday takes you up to a Red Legion ship to take it downI won't go into too much more detail, but what I can say is that it was much more fleshed out than most of the original [[https://Www.Destiny2Focus.com/|Destiny 2 Money guide]] story missions. It'more reminiscent of a Call of Duty campaign mission in that it had other friendly characters doing things and talking to you as you go through the waves of enemies and various other objectives. Destiny just had the ghost talking you through more simplistic story missions that were repetitive and this is different and exciting because you don't know what's going to happen next.+

-Each species now has new enemy types that do change the flow of combatThe Fallen’s Wretch lunges at you with their long spearThe Cabal are the key beneficiaries here with multiple new enemy typesThe Incendior uses a giant flamethrower to ignite the floor around players and War Beasts gallop in on four legs to tear out Guardians throatsThe Hive and the Vexwhile getting some new variants of existing typeshaven’t gotten the same amount of attention as the Cabal or Fallen.+(Image: [[http://www.imageafter.com/image.php?image=b7light_fx005.jpg&dl=1|http://www.imageafter.com/image.php?image=b7light_fx005.jpg&dl=1]])Going deeper into the earth, we finally found what the Red Legion was searching for, Protheon, the Modular MindThis giant bipedal Vex machine was the final boss and he was quite the challenge. All his attacks caused splash damage and a single stomp was enough to snuff out a GuardianWhile he was quite the bullet spongeBungie did make it interesting by constantly changing the arena. A multi-tiered bossProtheon would destroy the arena, sending us falling down to a new one. Each arena had its own little quirk. The second had a burning effect every now and again that would drain health. The third was surrounded by a lake of a milky white substance that would birth Vex grunts. It’s was an exciting boss battle that was more entertaining and engaging than anything in vanilla Destiny.

-It would seem that the Fallen have been able to get their hands on the Golden Age SIVA nanotechnology, transforming them into technologically enhanced beings capable of mass destructionThis story is pretty cut in dry as youre initially tasked with investigating the Plaguelandswhich leads you to gain further information on SIVA itself, and then you need to destroy the Splicer leadership.+The campaign kicks off with a bang. Returning home to The Last City, you and your Ghost discover that the city has come under siege by the Cabal Empire’s Red LegionLed by Dominus Gaul, the Legion successfully captures the Traveler, cutting off all Guardians connection to the Light. Without Light, you must become the rallying point for all surviving Guardiansre-unite the Vanguard and retake what Gaul has taken from you.

-The first thing to strike (no punin the Destiny 2 Beta was how well-worn it feltLike wrapping up in comfy blanket that is always waiting when returning to the family home…while it crumbles and burns to ash. The one thing that’s been on the brain is how Destiny would need to pull Halo maneuver if it hoped to pull itself up from the original launch, and so far, so goodDestiny 2’beta does exactly what Bungie’s previous title Halo did before ittaking everything it learned from the first game and improving on that at every turnThe gun play is tighter, the environments more stunning (not just visually) and the state of Destiny in better place than when it startedIt’s a shame then that the beta doesn’t offer morebecause the sparseness of it all itches at the back of the mindWhy only show the opening missiona strikeand two crucible maps/modes?+Other (obviousadditions to Destiny 2 are the new subclasses and extra abilitiesI'Titan main, so most of my time was spent with the new Sentinel class, but I also got to check out the Dawnblade Warlock and the Arcstrider Hunter. All three are similar in a lot of ways to their previous subclass, but with more aggressive tendencies. The Arcstrider is almost identical to Bladedancer, save for the super, which gives you some mad bow staff skills. Dawnblade gives you flaming sword and the ability to essentially fly around the map as you swing fiery blasts at everyoneThat'instead of Sunsingerwhich brought you back to life and gave you unrestricted access to all the melees and grenades you wantedInstead of Defenders and their Wards of Dawn, Sentinels will get Captain America shield that they're able to throw around and smash into people withSo while I think that the new subclasses are less tactical than the original onesthey grant new and interesting game mechanics to playersThe new supers are about taking out as many baddies as you canand in that caseall three are extremely successful.

+Speaking of enemiesDestiny 2 doesn’t add anything new to the mixEach of the factions from the original game returns with a few new unitsbut they don’t change the fact that these are the same enemies we’ve been shooting for the past three yearsConsidering we’re exploring new, exotic worldsit would have been nice to get some new enemy species thrown in.
