| Wukong also doesn’t have a parry, so dodging is your only means of avoiding damage. There are different kinds of dodges, though. One of the stances allows you to climb on top of your staff and sit there out of range while the boss leaps around, then leap off the staff and come down on the fiend's head with one big strike. That will work against some bosses, but more commonly you’re just expected to dodge, dodge, and dodge ag | One of the more important facts to keep in mind regarding Black Myth: Wukong 's various editions is the availability of each depending on the platform. While the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions of Black Myth: Wukong are available on both PS5 and PC, the physical Deluxe and Collector's Editions are strictly for PC owners, with each edition providing players with a key to download and install Black Myth: Wukong . As of now, there are no indications of the physical editions of the game arriving on PS5 with an applicable download code. Further, Black Myth: Wukong 's additional in-game content available as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition is consistent across all versions, with the physical Deluxe and Collector's Editions set apart by the collectibles they include rather than any additional in-game bonu |

| I’m not trying to talk anyone out of playing Wukong (though I do recommend you at least inform yourself about the allegations of discrimination and harassment at Game Science ). It’s a Soulslike through and through and I expect it will be popular with fans of the genre. But if Erdtree is too hard for you because the bosses are relentless, I’m sorry to say it, but Wukong isn’t going to treat you any ni | While the boss fights are a clear highlight of Black Myth: Wukong , both for their design and how they mix up the gameplay, they are also essential for the Monkey King’s evolution, as defeating key bosses will unlock Transformations . Essentially, Transformations let the player embody the spirit of a boss, taking on a stylized look inspired by that boss and wielding a version of the staff inspired by them as well. For example, after beating a fire-wielding boss, Wukong gained access to a Transformation that gave him a fire staff that inflicts burn damage and has a dash-strike move that closes large distances quic |

Elden Ring 's DLC is right around the corner, and there is a slew of upcoming releases that will look to push the boundaries of the action-RPG soulslike sub-genre over the coming months. One of these, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers , seems to take specific inspiration from the likes of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , and will no doubt be looking to differentiate itself to avoid direct comparisons with 2019's Game of the Year. The game is described as a dark retelling of the Ming Dynasty period and will feature real historical characters. With a tentative release window of 2025, developer Leenzee has plenty of time to establish some key differences for its debut ti | Ornithropy grants Wuchang players access to a variety of magic and techniques, and this can be tailored to specific playstyles by pairing it with a weapon type of the player's choice from the numerous ones on offer. Build variety is becoming more paramount in Soulslikes than ever before, so it's great to see Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has players covered in this regard. Boss fights are one of the most important Soulslike staples , and here, they are promised to feature multi-phases and be as challenging as expected. The entire game is being built using Unreal Engine 5, which should ensure crisp, clean visuals to capture the lightning-fast action on scr |

| With so many of its direct competitors releasing over the next four months or so, having a release window of 2025 will likely work in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers ' favor. This will give the title room to breathe and should allow the dust to settle on all of its rivals before it unleashes itself. Being available on PS5, PC, and also as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title will give it a great chance for success, so if Leenzee can stick the landing with the game's mechanics and settings, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers could be one of 2025's sleeper h | The recently launched pre-orders for Black Myth: Wukong show that there are four distinct versions of the game, the Standard Edition , Digital Deluxe Edition , Deluxe Edition , and Collector's Edition . Physical releases of Black Myth: Wukong are limited to the Deluxe and Collector's Editions, with the Standard and Digitial Deluxe Editions including digital-only pre-order bonuses that players will be able to download and claim in-game. Again, players should keep in mind that the physical Deluxe and Collector's Editions of Black Myth: Wukong will not include a disc and instead provide players with a digital download code, though both editions come with a slew of physical collectib |

| Black Myth: Wukong is an upcoming action RPG by Game Science, based on the novel Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en. Despite being an action RPG, Black Myth: Wukong is also yet another addition to the ever-expanding library of Soulslike titles, which follow, to some extent, FromSoftware's classic Dark Souls formula and mechanics. However, here lately, many games have been released that only have bits and pieces of the Soulslike genre found in them rather than being Soulslike through and through — like Shift Up's recent title Stellar Blade — and it seems like Black Myth: Wukong may be one of t | [[https://Blackmythwukongfans.com/|Black Myth Wukong Skills|Https://Blackmythwukongfans.Com/]] Myth: Wukong was a standout at Gamescom this year. Public queues regularly exceeded a four-hour wait, when they weren't closed due to reaching capacity, and there was a considerable buzz on the show floor. Brave people camped out at the booth with a sandwich in hand, sat on a camping chair, slowly counting down the hours until they got to play Game Science's upcoming Chinese Mythology-focused Soulsl |

| I walked away from Opening Night Live with [[https://Blackmythwukongfans.com/|Black Myth Wukong guide|https://blackmythwukongfans.com/]] Myth: Wukong having rocketed up my most anticipated games of 2024 list and the trailer’s incredible music doing a loop-de-loop around my brain. I was totally monkey-pilled and excited to see more of the game, whenever that fateful day might | Wuchang: Fallen Feathers tells the story of Bai Wuchang, a warrior with no memory who is battling a mysterious illness known as Ornithropy. Sekiro 's protagonist, Wolf , is also prone to contracting an illness known as Dragonrot. However, while Ornithropy is slowly morphing Wuchang into a monster, on the flip side, it is also granting her access to immense power. The game is described as non-linear but stops short of calling itself an open-world game, so it's likely it will adopt a similar semi-open-world structure that is used in both Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , and the upcoming Black Myth: Wuko |

| I was pumped to get the chance to play Wukong and go all in on my new hyper fixation and raced across the eerily quiet show floor expecting to waltz in, get my monkey goodness, and get on with my day. That’s not what happened. Despite the show not yet being open to the general public and my breakfast having barely settled in my stomach, there was already an hour-long queue that was growing by the sec | Soulslike fans have been eagerly anticipating the upcoming Black Myth: Wukong for just over 4 years, but that wait is finally nearing its end as the game's August release date fast approaches. Taking inspiration from the Classical 16th Century Chinese novel Journey to the West , Black Myth: Wukong puts players in the shoes of The Monkey King himself, Sun Wukong, as he takes on all manner of creatures from Eastern mythology. One of the questions players have had about the game during its long development was whether the title would be receiving a dedicated physical release, and it appears that players will indeed have the option of picking up a physical copy, albeit with a few cave |

| Black Myth: Wukong , an upcoming Soulslike based on the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West , got a big trailer at The Game Awards. Not only did this new teaser show off titanic foes and dazzling fidelity, but it also demonstrated how Black Myth: Wukong 's mythological creatures will be unlike anything players have seen in the genre thus | After years of mystery, Black Myth: Wukong is really taking shape. Both the public, and fellow critics, have had almost universal praise for the game that's set to release in 2024 . Now if I could just get my hands on i |

| I’m not a big Souls player, but I did have a great time trying out Black Myth: Wukong. The two-hour demo I played took me through half a dozen boss encounters while introducing a variety of characters and all of the core progression and combat systems. Fans of the genre will find plenty of familiar ideas: campfires allow you to refill your health pots, purchase items, and craft armor upgrades, while also giving you a respawn point to come back to when you inevitably die. But it’s where Wukong breaks from genre traditions that make it truly stand out. | |

| I walked away from Gamescom 2023 having played a ton of great upcoming games, from triple-A juggernauts like Mortal Kombat 1 and Sonic Superstars , to smaller but no less awesome releases like Thank Goodness You’re Here and AK-xolotl. As happy as I was with all I got to see, there was one game that managed to evade my grasp entirely - the Journey to the West-inspired Soulslike, Black Myth: Wuko | |

| Another notable aspect of this art design that really sets Black Myth: Wukong apart from its contemporaries is its clear inspiration from older Chinese mythological artwork, specifically Buddhist artwork. Journey to the West is a story with roots in Buddhist folklore and with a strong Buddhist message, things that Black Myth: Wukong wears on its slee | Black Myth: Wukong initially seemed too good to be true. Its beautiful graphics, fluid animations, and fast-paced gameplay were so impressive that a groundswell formed on social media, and the title jumped to the top of many gamers’ most anticipated lists. Of course, those thoughts of the game being just a tech demo lingered, but over time, developer Game Science showed more of Black Myth: Wukong and it became clear the title was very real. Now, having played the game for a few hours, I’m happy to report that, based on this first hands-on, Black Myth: Wukong is one to watch out |
